Our new baby boy finally made his appearance on January 23rd at 10:29 p.m. but not quite the way I had anticipated. I showed up at the hospital on the 22nd with contractions, but was sent back home because they weren't regular. I knew I was going into labor since I continued to have contractions all night. I went in for my office visit the next day and I had made it to 4 centimeters so the doctor scheduled an induction for the morning of the 24th. I was eagerly anticipating a nice, highly medicated hospital birth like I experienced with Bug. Yeah...right.
I ended up back at the hospital that night with contractions coming three minutes apart. I went from 6 centimeters to 9 in about 45 minutes and guess what? No time for an epidural. I had my almost 8 pound son with no medication at all. I would not recommend it. It hurt a lot.
We have been blessed with another beautiful little boy who looks just like his daddy and big brother and I couldn't be happier. More rested, yes. Cleaner, most definitely. But I wouldn't trade our little monster for anything.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to balance a new baby, almost three year old, husband, house, pets and my writing. Ladies, I am struggling. Any tips, suggestions, and prayers would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to spend plenty of time with God, get together a routine that keeps us fed, the laundry done, and my kids well cared for while still allowing me to write from time to time. My husband has been so supportive and helpful, I am so blessed to have him! This is definitely a stretching experience for me, I am such a control freak that I almost panic when my days have no structure. But for this season I will have to just hang on and hope to learn all that God wants to teach me.
